Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I'm Phyllis Woods. I'm a lifelong resident of Dover - a former four-term State Rep - the current Chairman of the Strafford County Republican Committee - a member of the state Executive Committee...and a proud Republican!Today's turnout is typical of what I've seen throughout the state while attending your meetings and events. More than ever before, Republicans are motivated, energized, mobilized, and committed to taking back our State in 2008.
When I lost my own campaign for the House last year along with many others, I turned my energy to a renewed commitment to grassroots efforts to work for Republican candidates in Strafford County and throughout the state.
With Democrats in power for the first time in 120 years they are threatening to erode the NH advantage that Republicans worked so hard to secure. We have a tough challenge facing us; but in NH we have a unique opportunity to win with grassroots efforts. With a legislature of 424 - if we can get that many candidates to run good campaigns they will energize our base and turn out their own network of supporters. That's bound to help the top of the ticket. A rising tide raises all ships.
New Hampshire faces another threat; many states are attempting to encroach on our 1st in the nation primary. What NH provides to the presidential selection process can't be duplicated elsewhere. We need to defend our right to be first because we do it best. We keep alive the American dream that anyone can run for President. That must be preserved.
As National Committeewoman I'd be prepared to stand with our State Chairman and National Committeeman as an effective & vital member of the team working for you on the RNC. I have the background, experience, and skills to succeed in convincing them to help us defend John Sununu's Senate seat, win in NH, and preserve our first primary status. I've realized good results in dealing with people of diverse views. I work with people one-on-one respectfully and courteously. My ability to present well-researched points in a gentle but persuasive manner makes me effective and the most qualified candidate for this role.
Please put Phyllis Woods to work for you by doing me the honor of allowing me to serve as your National Committeewoman. I won't let you down.
